Suspect stabs 2 young men inside apartment

ATLANTA -- Two victims, including a teenager, were stabbed in southwest Atlanta Wednesday morning.

It happened shortly before 4 a.m. at the Ashley Cascade Apartments in the 1300 block of Kimberly Way SW.

A witness told police that she and her two nephews, ages 17 and 25, were inside her unit at the apartment complex when they heard a knock on the door. The woman opened the door and the suspect, 39-year-old Eric Oliver, forced his way into the apartment, saying he was looking for his girlfriend.

Police said the woman's nephews confronted Oliver. The suspect stabbed both men with either a razor or box cutter, then ran from the apartment.

The 17-year-old victim suffered a laceration to his torso, while the 25 year old received a puncture wound to the lower back. Neither injury is considered life-threatening. Both victims were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital.

Police tracked down and arrested Oliver. He has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault.
