Luminosity Presents "Hinterland" on 11/27 starring Big Boi from Outkast

Atlanta, GA--  Luminocity Atlanta’s world premiere light-based mobile performance will take place on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 7:00p.m. starting at the historic Downtown Atlanta Woodruff Park with Hinterland, a new creation by gloATL starring Big Boi. This progressive, migrating work combines light, technology, dance, music, aerial, and theatrical design to create an explosion of utopian confetti, breathtaking visuals, and dynamic movement.  
The free to the public event will feature a cast of unique, illuminated characters and music that will incorporate a myriad of sounds and cultural rhythms, completed by the performance of world-renowned artist Antwan “Big Boi” Patton as the “Ringmeister”.

Atlanta, GA--  The Collective Renaissance Guild (CRG) in partnership with Ford Motor Company and Perennial Sports and Entertainment will hold its 3rd Annual Winter Ball on Saturday, December 4 at the Delta Air Heritage Museum in Atlanta, GA. Winter Ball 2010: Phoenix Rising, will honor Grammy-Award Winning Artist Toni Braxton for her community service with Autism Speaks and the American Heart Association and Martin Luther King III for his global humanitarian efforts and work as President of the King Center. Phoenix Rising is a tribute to Atlanta as well as the honorees who have all demonstrated resilience and an ability to thrive in challenging times.

Cascade UMC will Provide 300+ Families with a Week's worth of Food at Thanksgiving

Atlanta, GA--  Cascade United Methodist Church’s New Advent Choir continues a needed tradition in the Cascade Community—distributing groceries for Thanksgiving dinner and a week’s worth of additional groceries to Atlanta residents.  This year’s Thanksgiving Food Basket Project on Monday, November 22, 2010, will seek to service more than 300 families— one hundred more than last year.  Continuing also is the method of the project.   The church’s fellowship hall turns into a grocery store:  turkeys on one isle; greens and bread on another; and dry food goods nearby.   Choir and church members “shop” for the food, which is then divided, placed into boxes, and delivered to waiting recipients who are pre-selected from community organizations and area schools within the Cascade corridor.

Cascade United Methodist Church holds an Informative Discussion on HIV/AIDS

Atlanta, GA-- The Cascade United Methodist Church is sponsoring an event on HIV/AIDS on Saturday December 4th, and is gathering a number of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, social service representatives and others to provide valuable information to educate and empower the Cascade community.

Harlem’s Night: A Cabaret Story Finally Arrives in Atlanta for the Holidays!

Atlanta, GA--  The show will debut in Atlanta on December 9-10, 2010 at Paris on Ponce 716 Ponce De Leon Place NE, Atlanta, GA 30306. 

Showtime’s: Thursday, December 9, 2010 at: 8:30 p.m. with a Brown Betties After Dark Cast Party at 9:45 p.m.,  and two shows on December 10, 2010 at: 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.  Harlem’s Night: A Cabaret Story has performed to sold-out audiences in Los Angeles and New York.

Harlem’s Night is the story of one woman pining after one man—Joe, and how she uses her three alter-egos, played by the Brown Betties, to get him. Set in 1940s Harlem, these women seductively dance and croon their hearts out, revealing the sordid passions they have for the sexy but unattainable Joe. The guest-star role of “Joe” will be played by Rodney Perry who stars on “The Mo’Nique Show” and was also in Johnson Family Vacation and TV One’s “Who’s Got Jokes” .

The National Coalition of 100 Black Women Host its 2nd Annual 'Our Favorite Things Christmas Gala'

Atlanta, GA--  The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc Northwest Georgia Chapter (Mrs. Virginia Martin, Chapter President) will host its 2nd Annual Our Favorite Things Christmas Gala on Saturday, December 4, 2010. The black tie event will be held at a private estate home in the Atlanta area. During the gala, products from businesses throughout the metropolitan area will be featured in various luxury lounges—just in time for attendees to purchase unique holiday gifts for friends and family. In addition to its featured businesses, the evening will also include live music, cocktails, delectable food and a silent auction. The event, which attracted politicians and local community and business leaders in 2009, is expected to be the hit of the holiday social circuit again this year.
