2 wounded in shooting during robbery in SW Atlanta | News

ATLANTA -- Atlanta police said two people were wounded during a business robbery and shooting in Southwest Atlanta Thursday afternoon.

Police said it happened at the American Deli in the 500 block of Cascade Avenue at about 3 p.m.

Atlanta Police Officer John Chaffee said in a statement that the suspect was described as black male wearing a hoodie and baggy blue jeans. Chaffee said the suspect took an unknown amount of cash from the eatery's register, then fired several shots before leaving.

Investigators said a female victim was shot once in her side, and a second victim, a male, was grazed by a round. Both people were taken to hospital and listed in stable condition.

The Atlanta Police Commercial Robbery Unit is continuing the investigation.
